Apple is reportedly working on a magnetic battery pack for the latest iPhones. This battery pack is an accessory that would wirelessly charge the iPhone.
According to people who know much about the battery pack, Apple has been designing the product for at least a year and it has been scheduled to be released in the months following the launch of the iPhone 12 flagship.
Some Prototype of the battery pack which would be attach to the back of an iPhone 12 using the MagSafe system, have a white rubber exterior, said one of the experts who asked to be unidentified because the product hasn’t yet made it to the public.
The new accessory would differ from Apple battery add-ons for previous iPhones as it only provides additional battery life and not serve as a full protective case.
Report says the accessory’s development has been slowed by software issues such as the iPhone erroneously indicating that the pack is overheating and if issue is not resolved the product might be scrapped.
